DER SPEICHER GRAMZOW was built in 1953/54 as the first granary after World War II in East Germany, was the prototype of all subsequent granary and silo buildings and was of important economic, technical, architectural and political importance. It is entered in the monument list of the state of Brandenburg. With this understanding, it has been renovated since May 2016 and preserved as a cultural asset.
Exhibitions, events and guided tours in the unique rooms and galleries of the monolithic building with its original mechanical engineering and its authentic surfaces allow visitors to experience the epochal, mechanical and artistic dimensions. The interactions transform the industrial space into an art space.
The stair tower is the ascent over the floors to the machine rooms on the 9th floor, which welcomes you as a viewing podium, with a wide view of and beyond Gramzow to the Uckermark surroundings, filled with landscape.
